I do agree that what we call Clovis points, those with flutes, were developed in the New World. But I do not agree that there are no antecendants in the Old World. The next section of Tony's argument about the similarities between Clovis and Solutrean technology touches on this. I believe that Solutreen is a great example of a pre-Clovis assemblage, especially the terminal Solutreen in the Cantabrian Region of northern Spain. Solutrean there is dominated by fully bifacial, indented base points.
